Every Tuesday night, some of my best friends in the world come to my house. We talk, eat, listen and laugh. We are a Life Community group of Awaken Church. Actually, we ARE Awaken Church. We are new, we are really small, and we are committed to our relationships with each other and with Jesus. We are really honest with each other. We share all the junk and all the joy of each other's lives. We love people that love Jesus. We love people that don't love Jesus. We love people that don't know what or who they love. We also really love babies, especially Hannah Elizabeth. We welcome people from all walks of life, no matter where they are in their spiritual journey and desire for our community to be a place to truly belong.
We meet on Sundays, too.

We have been through some really great times, some really tough times, and all the times in between - and would wouldn't trade a single moment of it all. We are family, and we wouldn't have it any other way.

I would love for any and all of you to meet my family. Just let me know, and we'll hook you up.

I have been wanting to ask you about your new church. So glad you posted a link. There's nothing better than a small group of people to share life with...real, authentic life.

Hey, Lauren!

Thanks for stopping by ye olde Painted House and leaving a comment.

Man, my husband and I would so love to be a part of this group. We haven't found a church yet in our new home and it is killing us to not have that kind of comraderie.

Enjoy your soon-to-be niece!

Ha, I guess we are both sitting on our computers right now!

We are in GA, but we did just buy a place in the Asheville area for weekends--so kind of far. :(

Sure, I can do a banner for you...it has been so long since I've sold banners (I used to have an art & design business for children) that I don't even know what to charge anymore. Maybe you could tell me what you are interested in--size, design, imagery, etc--and I can give you a quote.

What a great church group! We just got involved with a great church this last year, and we rotate home bible study in each of our houses. It's turned out to be so fun and bonding, so glad you have something similar.

Love your blog...

Authentic community is something you will forever crave once you've been a part of it. My community group through church are some of the most amazing people ever, and not because they are just like me, but because they are challenging, different, and diverse. Becuase they call you out when you need it. Because they call you to check in. Because they call you brother/sister.

I love community. I think it is the heart of Christianity.
