say what you need to say

Yesterday, the weather was horrible in NC. Rain, hail, thunder, lightning, wind, flooding, a TORNADO or two... it was nothing less than miserable. Despite the unsafe conditions, my friends and I thought that making a pilgrimage to Raleigh was still a great idea. We were right. When we arrived in Raleigh, the sky didn't clear, but it did stop raining just in time for us to park, turn in our tickets, and get "front lawn" seats to hear...
...can't tell who the cutie is? Is this picture better?
yup. OneRepublic. My guilty pleasure. So cute, and you know what? Better in concert than on cd. mm-hmm. And after they performed, we danced to...

So now is where I say what I need to say. His new haircut makes him look more like a geek. Every time I see the guy I am surprised at how tall and lanky he is. He looked like he should be playing computer games and watching anime. (And I'm not at all bitter about him dumping Jennifer. That's right, she and I are on a first name basis. We're pretty much BFF.)

It was a fun night with girlfriends. As soon as we got in the car to leave, it started to rain again. Today I'm tired, but content.

Oh yeah. Today is my 2-year dating anniversary with Jus, 100 days until my wedding, and I'm going to pick up a china cabinet/hutch that I bought off craigslist ($75) tonight. There will be some decorating posts coming soon!

It's so exciting when you hit that 100 day mark. Everything from there on goes so fast because there is so much to be done! I am so excited for you, Lauren. I know your wedding will be fabulous!

What a GREAT concert to go to! I think I'd be more excited to see OneRepublic than John Whats-his-Face. I think he has an enormous head and that haircut isn't doin' much to help (that was just mean I know!---what did he ever do to me?! :) ).

My rodeo days, huh? I come from a HUGE family of cowboys. My uncle is a competitive team roper and my grandpa (when he was alive) use to break and train American Saddlebreads. When I was 8, he had sponsored a rodeo and I got to compete in the flag race. Like barrell racing except that you have to take a long-poled flag out of each barrel and replace it with another as you go along in the cloverleaf pattern. I don't think I won---but it was sure fun! I had my own horse, Calamity Jane, until I was 12. She got tangled up in some barb wire and hurt her hip badly enough that she had to be sold to be a brood mare (horse that just has babies and doesn't really get worked any more). Now it seems like a million years ago that I use to know how to saddle up a horse and ride. I hope it's something my kids get to experience one day though!

Thanks for asking :)>

Lauren, I wish I lived closer because I love making lists, shopping at Old Time Pottery, and would TOTALLY help with wedding duties!

I cannot WAIT to see the hutch you bought on craig's list! I'm obsessed with craig's list, and have been banned by Marsh after getting TWO armoires and that kitchen island! Ha! Just be safe and bring someone with you when you pick something up - there are crazy peeps out there!

It did it, so should I post 4 more comments just to make up for the others? hee hee
Oh, and the camping wasn't my bro with the ten kids....it was my hubby's sister.
